Aikido - the Way of Harmony - is a martial art of Japanese origin suitable for children as well as adults, women as well as men. Aikido training is also good general exercise for keeping your body healthy and flexible. Aikido is a non-competitive art.

It is possible to train Aikido in 61 different associations in 52 locations all over Finland: from Helsinki in the south to Rovaniemi in the north and from Vaasa in the west to Joensuu in the east. Finland Aikikai is the only national Aikido federation and more than 95% of the about 3300 people, who train Aikido in Finland, are members of affiliated associations.

Finland Aikikai is a national organisation recognised by the Aikikai Foundation. Finland Aikikai is also a member of the European Aikido Federation and the International Aikido Federation. In addition to these Finland Aikikai is also a member of the Finnish Sports Federation, which is the largest sports federation in the country representing over 100 different sports.
